Pilsen - European capital of culture 2015

 

1,5 hours long walking tour

The excursion usually starts from Rychtarka coach park or central bus station (other places where to meet with the guide available, make arrangement). Places to see while beeing on tour: The Square of Republic - Town Hall, the Plague Column and the Cathedral of St Bartholomew, historical town houses on the square in baroque and renessance styles. Modern hotel Central and newly built fountains, etc.

At Klatovská Street - third biggest synagogue in the world that has been completely reconstructed. Theatre of J.K. Tyl - a beautiful Neo-Renaissance building; Americká Street where a huge granite monument “Thanks to America” was built in 90s of 20th century.
 
Smetana Yard with the Library in the building of former convent of Dominican nuns. Franciscan Monastery - the oldest local complex and surprisingly as the legend says older than the town. The West Bohemia Museum will amaze you as one of the town’s dominants, situated in а very calm locality between the Smetana Yard and the Křižík Yard.
 
The Butcher’s shop from 14th century, the Former Water Tower from 16th century, and the remains of the town walls. Then the excursion will be finished at the Square of the Republic again.
 
Our guide will recommend you where to go to drink coffee, have good meal or interriors of buildings to visit.

One day stay in Pilsen:

 

We will arrange for you a program for whole day in Pilsen. We can prepare for you a package including tickets for a comfortable coach line from Prague or Carlsbad, visit of brewery (english or russian guided tour), guided tour and a visit of special events of Pilsen 2015, european capital of culture.

 

Arrival from Carlsbad or Prague around 10o´clock. Transfer to brewery, around 11:00 excursion of Pilsner Urquell with degustation. Break for a lunch (lunch not included), reservation of a table in brewery restaurant can be arranged.

 

13:30/14:00 Guided tour to the center of the town, see above.

 

15:00 End of the tour. The guide will recommend you where to go to drink coffee, have good meal or interriors of buildings to visit, also will recommend you where you can go shopping.

 

18:00/18:30 Transfer to Carlsbad or Prague. Return about 19/20 o´clock evening.

 

Price: minimally 2 participants, price per person including guided tour, transfers and the ticket to Pilsner Urquell (english or russian guided tour) 600,- Kč, group discounts for over 10 persons.
